Title: Histology Technician
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5×8 hours (09:00 AM – 05:00 PM)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform histology tasks including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining (automated IHC, special stains, and some manual stains).
• Prepare routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens.
• Conduct cytology preparations such as Thin Prep, cell block, and cytospin for gyn specimens.
• Apply knowledge of grossing and fixation, decalcification, and tissue processing.
• Operate and maintain automated/manual microtomes and embedding equipment.
• Process and stain tissues using appropriate techniques including H&E and special stains.
• Prepare slides and coverslips for examination.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including phlebotomy and radiology.

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of hospital histology experience with grossing.
• Associate’s Degree in Science (ASCP-HT certification preferred).
• Strong experience in anatomical pathology and cytology preparation.
• Proficient in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Ability to work in an acute care hospital environment.
