GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB: The Manager of Grants, Operations & Patient Experience will oversee office management, grants and contracts, finances, and human resources at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital. The role involves collaborating with SUHI leadership to ensure grant compliance, exploring new grant opportunities, and providing leadership on patient experience initiatives. In the absence of a grant program coordinator, the manager will assume their responsibilities. The manager will also participate in leadership activities as part of the Schwab team.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: President, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital
Supervises: Grant Program Coordinators and staff
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Maintain effective communication with staff and stakeholders, modeling mission, vision, values, and confidentiality.
Lead and train Grant Program Coordinators; serve as backup when necessary.
Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with policies; serve as administrative support and problem solver.
Develop and enforce administrative guidelines related to grants; conduct staff training.
Manage inventory, supplies, and IT needs, including software licenses.
Organize meetings, prepare presentations, and coordinate departmental activities.
Provide regular updates on grant activities to leadership.
Manage onboarding, office arrangements, and staff HR functions including performance reviews and corrective actions.
Support employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
Develop knowledge of grant policies, compliance, and regulations.
Oversee contract review, ensuring clarity and compliance, and coordinate with legal teams.
Act as liaison with finance, payroll, and accounting; manage budget and financial reporting.
Manage grant budgets, cost centers, and financial recordkeeping.
Supervise procurement processes and monitor expenses.
Lead patient satisfaction initiatives, analyze patient feedback, and collaborate on experience improvement efforts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred
Experience in grant management, HR, or administration; healthcare and rehab experience preferred
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Healthcare and rehab experience preferred
Staff supervision experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ability to handle confidential information and exercise independent judgment
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills
Strategic planning and decision-making abilities
Budget management and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
