Job Title: Process Chemical Engineer
Job Description

Join our team as a Process Chemical Engineer and play a pivotal role in developing and scaling chemical processes from the lab to production. This is a leadership opportunity in a high-level position, where you will interact closely with chemists and guide operators through production processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with chemists to guide the development of new chemical processes and translate them into executable instructions.
• Guide operators through production and scaling up production processes from the lab to the pilot plant.
• Provide flexible solutions when processes do not scale as expected and assist other engineers with difficult scale-up situations.
• Develop and provide supporting documentation such as batch records, specifications, hazard sheets, safety review packages, air emissions, and processing reports.
• Conduct safety meetings, oversee execution of processing, and participate on the floor as needed.
• Review executed batch records and interact closely with chemistry and quality departments throughout the production process.
• Engage in external interactions with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Provide engineering support for pilot plant infrastructure.
• Multi-task effectively and work with supervisors to establish priorities.

• Expertise in process improvement, chemical engineering, and chemistry.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, new product development, and continuous improvement.
• B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Ten or more years of experience in scale-up and preparation of pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and experience in first-time scale-up and preparation.
• Experience with pilot plant and kilo scale process equipment.
• Knowledge of process/cleaning validation and equipment commissioning/qualification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proven success in prior positions.
• Highly motivated team player.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

The role involves working across various departments, including the lab, pilot plant, and production areas. This position requires interaction with diverse teams, ensuring a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Painesville, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
