The Opportunity:

We have an immediate opening for a temporary Archaeological GIS Technician to work in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. This is a part-time GIS position with the potential for it to become a full-time GIS/Archaeology position with benefits. The potential Archaeology component could include office and/or field work.

What We Offer:

• Compensation This position is paid on an hourly basis between $23 - $26 per hour, depending on experience and education.
• Benefits Temporary staff members are eligible for paid sick leave, 8 paid holidays, eligibility for a healthcare program through ACRA (American Cultural Resources Association).

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Support our Utah Cultural Resources Team with cartographic tasks using GIS and other applications.
• Support field crews with GPS setup and spatial data management.
• Perform other GIS tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Opportunity for additional tasks, including archaeological fieldwork and office-based reporting tasks, as available.

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems, Anthropology, or related field.
• Experience conducting all aspects of archaeology field work, with an emphasis on spatial data collection.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps and other ESRI software suite components is preferred.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot software and solve problems.
• A solid understanding of spatial data coordinate systems and experience with vector and raster data types.
• Ability to multitask and be able to adjust to daily changes in priorities to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
• Proactive solutions-oriented disposition and desire to provide quality spatial data support to field and office staff are a must!
• Ability to work in the office 3 days per week on average, as applicable.
