Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
Location: New York, NY 10016
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4x9-Hour Shifts (Schedule between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM)
Weekly Pay: $2,646 (Gross)
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for a 13-week assignment within a hospital-based Adult Psychiatric Emergency (CPEP) environment. The LMSW will conduct psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and care coordination for adult patients presenting with acute psychiatric needs.
This is a fast-paced, high-acuity setting that requires strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and crisis evaluations.
Provide emergency mental health support, counseling, and intervention.
Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to appropriate community-based resources.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other clinical team members.
Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Support patient stabilization and care transitions within the psychiatric emergency setting.
Hospital experience required
Adult Psychiatric Emergency / CPEP experience strongly preferred
Minimum 1 year of professional social work experience
Master’s Degree in Social Work
Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in New York State (NYSED)
Must meet and maintain licensure requirements throughout assignment
4 shifts per week, 9 hours each
Work hours fall between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM
Flexibility required based on unit needs
