Job Title : Compliance Analyst

Location : Baltimore, MD. Duration : Contract 12 months+ Pay Rate : $25-$35/hour 

A Compliance Analyst in the financial industry ensures that the organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves monitoring transactions for compliance with laws and regulations, conducting audits and risk assessments, and preparing reports on compliance issues. The analyst provides guidance on regulatory changes, develops and implements compliance programs, and works closely with other departments to address and rectify compliance-related issues. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) reviews to verify the identity of clients and assess the risk of financial crimes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Analyze and investigate suspicious transactions and activities, file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as required, and work with regulatory agencies to address and resolve potential issues.
  • Create, implement, and regularly update AML and KYC policies and procedures to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and provide training to staff on compliance protocols.
  • Perform regular audits and risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs and internal controls, and recommend improvements as necessary.


Skills required:

  • Ability to analyze complex financial transactions and identify suspicious patterns or anomalies indicative of money laundering or other financial crimes.
  • In-depth understanding of AML/KYC regulations and compliance requirements, including familiarity with relevant laws, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting, combined with effective communication skills to present findings and collaborate with internal teams and regulatory agencies.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project.
