Job Description
Founded in 1951, Maner Building Supply distributes an expansive line of specialty building products, such as engineered lumber, wallboard, roofing, siding, decking, installed fencing, custom glass, windows, doors and other materials, to professional homebuilders, contractors and commercial builders from its locations in Augusta, Georgia and Aiken and Charleston, South Carolina.
The Welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques to hollow doors & frames. Responsible for inspecting completed welds to determine proper weld. The Welder grinds, sands and/or paints hollow doors then prepares lock work on completed product. What you will do
• Pull material to complete welding of hollow metal doors and framework.
• Monitor work orders to adhere to production schedules.
• Responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the process of continuous improvement, identifying, and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of internal and external customers and be open and responsive to change.
• Notify manager when the inventory of materials and supplies and may be adjusted.
• Use appropriate technique to weld material(s) for metal doors and framework.
• Inspect completed welds to determine proper weld.
• Grind, sand, and paint completed welded door slab product.
• Prepare lock work on completed door slab.
• Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment.
• Responsible for personnel safety, equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
• Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned by Management. Required For All Jobs

• High School or GED required. Experience Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in welding and building materialcomponents required. Skills and Abilities
• Special skills required Operation of MIG, TIG and ARCH welders, grinders, sanders and/or painting materials.
• Special skills required.
• Proficient comprehension of measurements and basic math principles.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to develop, promote and maintain good intercompany and customer relations.
• Ability to read a tape measure, operate power tools and machinery.
• Ability to work overtime as needed. Licenses and Certifications
• Must be able to safely operate forklift and pass certification.
