Applicant must have strong computer skills Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook, export experience, and excellent communication skills. Responsible for the management and tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments of finished goods and raw materials.
Length of experience - 3 to 5 years of warehouse management experience in a Distribution Center operation
Specialized skills/technical knowledge - Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a Distribution Center operation.
- Knowledge of yard management and rail spur operation
- Strong knowledge of the dock-to-dock functions related to exporting finished goods containers.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field (Preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES - Plan and execute the daily and weekly shipping and production schedule based on available shipping containers i.e., outbound loads.
- Responsible for the overall inventory of the warehouse
- Schedule all raw material inbound loads.
- Direct inbound loads from suppliers with consideration to lead times, volumes, price, warehouse location, production requirements and constraints.
- Regularly monitor status of all transfers, inbound and outbound loads. Communicate any and all arrival or departure.
- Analyze, investigate, and provide contingency plans for solutions to inbound or outbound logistical operational problems and issues.
- Communicate inbound and outbound activity with shift managers, AP manager, QA manager and GM.
- Authorize and submit invoice documents of all logistical transactions and billings to the Accounting Department.
- Promote good supplier relationships to maintain a stable production facility
- Manage the maintenance, preparation, ordering, and routing of purchase orders
- Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facility
- Ensure quality of all services and processes within the facility
- Manage outbound trucking logistics, appointment times, schedule changes and unforeseen logistics issues.
- Respond to phone & e-mail request from customers & carriers and schedule appointments.
- Establishes and administers warehouse policies and procedures to provide for efficient receiving, unloading and storage of incoming raw materials, including bulk materials.
- Coordinates with accounting, production, and sales departments to ensure inventory records are accurate and maintained at levels within management goals.
- Responsible for staff development and implementation of programs to ensure efficient operation of the Logistics Department.
- Responsible for interaction with customers, carriers, drivers and other providers to ensure problems are resolved and positive relationships are maintained.
- Responsible for interaction with carriers, drivers, and transportation team to coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure shipping schedules are met and expected service levels are achieved.
- Participates in negotiations with carriers concerning transportation rates and other services and other providers to ensure efficient operation of the Warehouse/Logistics Department.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all financial records related to inventories, customer billing, and shipping records. Provide analysis of records, as requested.
- Maintains metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs and safety records and other relevant documentation.
- Provide analysis of warehouse/ logistics function to justify changes and to measure efficiency of the department.
- Responsible for participating in assigned training and implementation programs related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; serving on food safety auditing and compliance committees and monitoring employee work practices to ensure that all food safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
- Works all shifts as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
