Job Description & RequirementsAmerican Family Children's Hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center featuring nationally recognized pediatric specialists in a wide range of fields, including faculty from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. Named for a generous gift from American Family Insurance and located in Madison, Wisconsin, the state-of-the-art facility wins widespread praise for its expert care and a warm, soothing atmosphere that enhances a child's ability to heal.\n\nShift: 36 hrs/week, Evening/Night, 12 hour shifts, 1900-0730, every other weekend. Flexibility is required per operational needs of department.\n\nWe are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:\n• Join our remarkable highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, to provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in this state-of-the art 21-bed unit.\n• Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\nFacility Requirement:\n• Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location.\n• Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.\n\nExperience:\n • Pediatric ICU experience required.\n• Solid experience in PICU, and some CV ICU or cardiac step down or general cardiac experience required.\n• Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.\n\nLicensure and Certification:\n• Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state.\n• BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY\n• PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association\n\nEducation:\n • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.\n\nTelemetry\n • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).\n\nLocation: American Family Children's' Hospital 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792\n\nParking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite
