The PM will be remote with planned visits to Bismarck, ND for key project milestones.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Project Manager on a contract basis to lead our Windows 10 to Windows 11 enterprise migration project. This includes successfully configuring and utilizing Microsoft Intune as part of the endpoint management solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale IT projects, excellent technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, and proven experience in guiding cross-functional teams through complex migrations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:
•
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
•
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
•
Coordinate and manage the migration process from Windows 10 to Windows 11, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
•
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion
Stakeholder Management:
•
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters
•
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and IT management
•
Facilitate regular meetings with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors
Technical Oversight:
•
Provide technical guidance and support to the migration team, ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational standards
•
Oversee the development and execution of testing and validation plans to ensure compatibility and performance of Windows 11
•
Organize, track, and resolve technical issues and risks associated with the migration process.
Resource Management:
•
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure resource availability and project alignment
•
Manage project budgets and resource allocations effectively
•
Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues impacting project success

Documentation and Reporting:
•
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans
•
Document and communicate lessons learned and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
Experience:
•
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, with experience related to IT infrastructure or operating system migrations.
•
Proven experience managing Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration projects or similar enterprise-level IT projects.
•
Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Intune, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Skills:
•
Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
•
Strong technical knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11, including their features, functionalities, and deployment strategies.
•
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•
Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Education:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management or a related field. PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.

Additional Considerations:
Client is expanding its investment in Microsoft technologies. To take advantage of this investment, several related projects need to be executed. In addition to the enterprise Windows 10 to 11 upgrade, they will be seeking project management assistance in the following areas:
•
SharePoint upgrades and data migration (including Team sites)
•
Azure cloud hosting design and configuration
•
Azure Data Lake roadmap, design, and configuration (including integration with SAP)
•
M365 E5 productivity apps roadmap, setup, and rollout
•
Local intranet rebuild with modern SharePoint functionality

Client will consider extending time or contracts to candidates that are willing and able to help drive these initiatives to completion. A contract-to-hire scenario may be considered for qualified candidates.
