In this contract position, you will play a key role in analyzing and managing cost structures within a manufacturing environment. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records and improving cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manage cost accounting systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

• Develop and maintain standard costing models for manufacturing processes.

• Evaluate and track job costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.

• Review and update bills of materials to reflect current production requirements.

• Utilize Excel to prepare detailed cost analyses and financial reports.

• Implement percentage of completion accounting methods to ensure proper revenue recognition.

• Collaborate with production teams to identify and address cost variances.

• Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making and cost optimization.

• Prepare and present financial data to management for strategic planning.

• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and practices within the organization.

• Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing principles and practices.
• Proficiency in job costing and percentage of completion accounting.
• Expertise in analyzing and managing bills of materials.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to identify cost variances and recommend actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey financial insights.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
