Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Brownsville, TX
Job Type: Full-time (On-site)
Setting: Outpatient
Schedule: Flexible, Pediatric focus (option to work with Adults)
Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans and IEPs developed by supervising SLP.
Facilitate carryover activities to generalize communication skills across environments.
Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings as directed.
Educate clients and families on AAC devices and supportive technology.
Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare therapy materials.
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling and managing supplies.
Support SLP in clinic programs, staff development, and public relations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
Minimum 24 semester credit hours in SLP/Audiology (including SLP, language, and speech disorders).
Completion of at least 25 hours of clinical observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting.
Current SLPA license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Must practice under a licensed SLP with a Supervisory Responsibility Statement (SRS).
