Job Description

FTS is partnering with an organization seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to manage and support a mixed virtual and physical server environment, primarily utilizing Windows Server and VMware technologies. This role includes maintaining Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, and other domain services, as well as ensuring system security, data integrity, and performance for an organization of 100+ users. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years’ experience in server administration and virtualization, with strong problem-solving abilities, a solid understanding of IT infrastructure, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Candidates must be able to be Authorized to work for any US employer.
• Oversee the daily operation of both virtual and physical servers running various Windows Server and Workstation versions.
• Manage key network services such as Active Directory, DNS, Remote Access, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
• Maintain a virtualized environment using VMware to support a user base of over 100 individuals.
• Apply security protocols and best practices to safeguard server infrastructure and sensitive data.
• Set up and manage user profiles, group policies, and access permissions within Active Directory.
• Keep server-based applications running smoothly and ensure antivirus software is consistently up to date.
• Diagnose technical problems, determine root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
• Handle routine backups and assist with system recovery when needed.
• Continuously monitor system resources to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage access controls and security settings across servers and mainframes.
• Collaborate on technology purchases and installation of new hardware or software.
• Provide user support and resolve technical issues promptly and professionally.
• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase system efficiency.
• Perform additional technical tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
