About the Clinician's WorkdayPhysician schedule details include coverage in the Main OR during both weekdays and weekends with available shifts of 8, 10.5, or 16 hours on Saturdays and Sundays, with on-call responsibilities required. For OB, there is a 24-hour in-house call from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. with one CRNA assigned to rooms and one MD providing medical direction, and substantial, recent OB experience is required. Cardiovascular coverage consists of weekday shifts of 8 or 10.5 hours, also with on-call responsibilities. The case mix includes cardiac, thoracic, obstetric, orthopedic, neurosurgical, general surgery, GI, gynecology, urology, major vascular, ENT, pulmonology, plastics, podiatry, and oncology. Physicians will medically supervise CRNAs and may also have teaching responsibilities for internal medicine residents, combining clinical practice with academic involvement.
