Overview: We are seeking a Certified General Appraiser to join our valuation based legal team to primarily assist with property tax appeals. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial real estate valuations-including office, multifamily, retail, hotel, and industrial assets. This role combines valuation and financial analysis, internal and external client service, and legal-adjacent support, offering a dynamic opportunity for a licensed appraiser who thrives in a collaborative, professional environment. This position focuses on analysis and support; the appraiser will not be responsible for drafting full appraisal reports or providing expert testimony.
Key Responsibilities Include: *Prepare real property valuations using standard appraisal methodologies, including income, cost, and sales comparison approaches for a variety of commercial asset types.
*Conduct on-site property inspections.
*Review and analyze real property appraisals.
*Assist in the preparation and analysis of settlement offers in legal matters involving the valuation of real property.
*Provide legal-adjacent valuation support for property tax, estate planning, and eminent domain matters as needed.
Our Ideal Candidates Will Have: *Certified General Appraiser license required; MAI designation or equivalent a plus.
*Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, economics, or a related field.
*Strong financial analysis skills and familiarity with commercial real estate documents and markets.
*Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a team-based, billable environment.
*Clear, professional communication skills - both written and verbal.
*This position offers hybrid remote flexibility but will require some in-office presence in Minneapolis and some travel throughout the state for property inspections.
Compensation: The estimated annual salary range is $80,000-$120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation may vary by geographic location and will be based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education, skillset, and overall alignment with the role.
