We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner / Project Manager to support complex initiatives within the financial services domain. The ideal candidate will bring strong functional expertise in investment and asset management, along with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, translate business needs into actionable deliverables, and ensure successful project execution in an Agile environment.

Location: Boston, MA or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Apexon W2 Only

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of financial systems, including portfolio management, trade processing, investment accounting, and reporting platforms.
  • Serve as Product Owner for assigned applications by managing and grooming the product backlog and aligning priorities with business objectives.
  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure timelines, scope, and budget commitments are met.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure successful testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Perform data analysis, reporting, and gap analysis to identify process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, sprint ceremonies, status meetings, and executive-level reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Ownership, and/or Project Management within financial services.
  • Strong domain knowledge in asset management, investment management, portfolio management, or trading systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency with project and Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial processes and translate them into clear, actionable deliverables.
