Location : Austin, The Hill Country, New Mexico, and Florida.

Environment : Ranch lifestyle. Quiet. Peaceful. Retired couple. Must enjoy solitude. Three of the locations are on working ranches.

Job Type : Full-time, weekends, and some holidays.

PLEASE NOTE: with the amount of travel this position entails, you must be willing to be away from family and pets for extended periods of time.

Job Summary : We are seeking a versatile and self-motivated Private Chef to join our household in Austin, Texas, with frequent travel to ranches in Texas, Florida, and New Mexico. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of meal preparation, kitchen management and pantry organization while focusing on a Mediterranean-style diet that emphasizes healthy and delicious cuisine. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for culinary excellence across varied environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, cook, serve meals, and clean up for a household of two individuals, with occasional guests, adhering to dietary preferences and restrictions.
  
• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including organization of pantry, refrigerator, kitchen equipment, and keeping kitchen clean and sanitized.
  
• Travel to ranch locations, often for extended periods (1-2 weeks at a time), to prepare and serve meals.
  
• Pack and transport food and beverages for ranch trips, ensuring quality and freshness.
  
• Maintain dining areas, including table setting and floral arrangements, to enhance the dining experience.
  
• Manage beverage selection, including purchasing and stocking wines and other beverages as per household preferences.
  
• Run household errands and occasionally provide driving services for the employer.
  
• Accept deliveries and manage returns related to household needs and kitchen supplies.
  

Required Qualities :

• Well groomed, clean neat appearance. No smoking.
  
• Flexibility with work hours and tasks, including occasional weekends and holidays as required.
  
• Ability to work independently in both urban and remote ranch environments, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
  
• Low-key personality with the ability to maintain a discreet and professional profile at all times.
  
• Initiative to anticipate and fulfill household needs, from culinary preferences to kitchen maintenance.
  
• Commitment to continuous learning and innovation in preparing healthy, flavorful Mediterranean-style cuisine.
  
• Patience
  
• Valid driver's license and comfort with driving, particularly for travel to ranch locations using provided vehicles.
  
• Will require references and a background check.
  
• Comfortable with dogs
