We are currently searching for a Preconstruction Designer to join our team here at High Concrete in Denver, PA

The Preconstruction Designer will be responsible for supporting the sales process to provide an exceptional customer experience. He/she will assist with streamlining the flow of information to the postaward functions including Estimating, Engineering, Purchasing, etc. This individual will be responsible to take sales opportunities from concept through product design

This is a 1st shift Monday-Friday position, in office.

Job Functions:

  • Works closely with internal engineering, project management, and sales staff to provide insight on products and coordinate technical resolutions to customer problems.
  • Provides a differentiated customer experience by modeling sales opportunities, with consideration for current Engineering standards and modeling practices, and joining Sales Representatives in customer meetings. Presents sales models and augmented reality demonstrations on an as needed basis.
  • Enhances client relationships through high-level technical sales and customer service.
  • Provides technical support and services to architects and external engineers.
  • Supports the delivery of technical sales presentations for existing and prospective clients.
  • Participates in industry exhibitions and conferences as required.
  • Provides technical training for internal and external personnel.
  • Meets with new and existing customers as assigned. Provides proposed solutions to technical questions as required to ensure customer needs are met and coordinates pre-award RFI’s, in conjunction with Estimating, to facilitate a smooth transition to Engineering at award.
  • Establishes and monitors progress on all assigned projects.
  • Works with customers to address any problems or additional changes within scope of authority.
  • Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintains expenses within yearly budget and submit reports as required.
  • Attends various industry meetings, training seminars and special courses, etc. as directed by the Sales Director.
  • Collaborates with Engineering to stay current on design practices and standards. Collaborates with Sales group to understand market trends, new product offerings, etc.

Experience, Training and/or education required:

  • Exceptional modeling skills (TEKLA, Revit, SketchUp, etc.) a must, 2-year drafting/ modeling degree preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related technical degree with P.E., EIT or RA a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Minimum three (3) years of construction, precast concrete or engineer-to-order manufacturing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be customer service driven
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good presentation and speaking skills
  • Driver's license required
