Job Title: Pharmacy Clerk – 3rd Shift

Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Clerk supports pharmacy floor operations by preparing finished prescriptions for delivery and assisting with light warehouse tasks. This role ensures accurate sorting, scanning, and documentation of medications, working collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other clerks to maintain efficient and timely prescription fulfillment.
Schedule:
Shift: 3rd Shift (8-hour shift beginning between 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
Overtime/Weekends: Not regularly required but may occasionally be necessary to ensure timely prescription release.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort all baskets/carts of final reviewed medications according to facility unit, location, and delivery schedule
Scan all medications pending delivery to ensure proper tracking and documentation
Prepare delivery manifests, packing slips, and related paperwork (MCRs, TSP notifications, etc.)
Retrieve final reviewed medication carts from pharmacist stations, including STAT orders
Set up and label delivery totes prior to shipment
Verify racks and bins before each departure to ensure all medications are included
Scan and confirm delivery manifests in system for tracking accuracy
Provide general support to the pharmacy floor during downtime
Follow all HIPAA and regulatory compliance standards
Adhere to all company safety, attendance, and dress code policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work at a steady, moderate pace
Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills
0–6 months of work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a pharmacy setting (retail or long-term care preferred)
Prior warehouse or logistics experience
Familiarity with pick-and-drop or order fulfillment operations
Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk intermittently during the shift
May stand or sit for 7–10 hours per shift
May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Requires manual dexterity for operating scanning and labeling equipment
Must have visual acuity for reading fine print and color identification
Must be able to hear and respond to normal voice communication
Extended hours may occasionally be required
