Parking Enforcement

REPORTS TO : Community Relations Officer

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

Enforces various parking ordinances throughout the City of Oak Park.

DESCRIPTION

• Operate a motor vehicle safely while observing parking violations and conditions;
• Interact tactfully and effectively with those encountered in the course of the work, including hostile and irate citizens;
• Write clear and concise records, reports, declarations, and citations;
• Understand and follow oral and written instruction

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Familiarity with streets and locations in the City of Oak Park and surrounding area.
• Effective communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, or completion of General Educational Development (GED)
• Possess valid Michigan Driver's license
• Clean driving record

SALARY RANGE - Hourly rate of $17.00
