TITLE: OPERATIONS - CAPACITY PLANNING SR ANALYST STATUS: EXEMPT REPORT TO: SRMGR - PORTFOLIO PLANNING AND EXECUTION DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS PLANNING AND EXECUTION JOB CODE: 11938 PAY RANGE: $83,900.00 - $95,000.00 ANNUALLY GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Capacity Planning Senior Analyst is responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and optimizing resource capacity across operational teams. This role ensures alignment between staffing levels and service demand, supports strategic planning, and enables data-driven decision-making to improve operational efficiency and member experience. The Capacity Planning Senior Analyst partners with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and scalable workforce strategies. Other objectives include developing and providing technical expertise to leaders, analyzing data to inform capacity decisions, and driving short and long-term capacity roadmap planning. Additionally, the role requires building strong relationships with internal partners, drafting technical communications. Overall, the role demands a strategic and collaborative partner to drive business outcomes and ensure alignment with internal and member needs.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS: - Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast staffing needs based on historical data, seasonal trends, and business growth.
- Analyze resource workload distribution and recommend adjustments to optimize utilization.
- Collaborate with department leaders to align staffing plans with service level goals and operational priorities.
- Monitor real-time performance metrics and adjust forecasts as needed to ensure service continuity.
- Provide reporting and insights to support workforce planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to capacity and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support implementation of workforce allocation tools and processes.
- Partner with HR and Operations to support hiring plans and onboarding timelines.
- Continuously improve forecasting accuracy and planning methodologies through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK: - Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret data and develop forecasts.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and influence decision-making.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and telephones.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with workforce management software preferred.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS: - INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management, including Senior Management.
- EXTERNAL: Members, vendors, suppliers, government agencies, credit union industry associations and peers at other financial institutions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Statistics, Operations Management, or related field is required. Additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in capacity planning, workforce management, or operations analysis. Experience in a financial institution or service-oriented environment is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS: - Strong understanding of capacity planning principles and workforce optimization strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.
- Occasional movement throughout the department to interact with staff.
- May require extended hours or travel to support planning initiatives and attend meetings or training.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
