Job Opportunity: Operations and Safety Document Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to step into the role of Operations and Safety Document Specialist . This position focuses on developing, implementing, and refining work methods and procedures to improve safety, operational efficiency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of utility operations and a proactive problem-solving mindset to the table.

Location: Hybrid arrangement based in downtown Pittsburgh

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and document standardized work methods and procedures for various utility operations.
• Assess current processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and safety enhancements.
• Partner with field operations teams to ensure successful implementation of new work methods.
• Facilitate training sessions for employees on updated work procedures.
• Monitor adherence to established work methods and suggest corrective actions when needed.
• Stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory standards to drive compliance and innovation.
• Collect and evaluate data to measure the effectiveness of work processes and recommend improvements.
• Create reports and presentations to communicate initiatives and outcomes to management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Seven (7+) years of relevant work experience required, with at least three years in utility operations or a related field strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in software tools for data analysis and process documentation.
• Solid knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Proven ability to write clear and effective technical documentation.
