Job Description

Nurse Scheduler

The Nurse Scheduler provides administrative support to departments, ensuring efficient daily operations related to staffing and scheduling. Key responsibilities include managing schedules, completing timecard edits, entering and updating daily staffing rosters. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Nurse Scheduler will work closely with Nurse Leaders and the staffing office.

What you will do:

  • Provide timekeeping and scheduling assistance to nursing leaders. This will include timecard edits, creating balanced schedules, updating daily rosters, and entering schedule changes.
  • Manage schedules, arrange meetings, and coordinate meeting logistics, including preparing agendas, booking rooms, and following up on action items. Ensure that the department leadership and staff's time is optimized through effective scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • 1-3 years Experience in the areas of timecard maintenance and creating staffing schedules and rosters. Preferred
  • Knowledge of office administration practices and business operations, especially in supporting leaders or teams.
  • Strong familiarity with scheduling systems such as UKG/Kronos.
  • Problem-solving skills to anticipate the needs of leaders, resolve scheduling conflicts, and manage administrative challenges.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across departments.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work with discretion when supporting leaders.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with collaborative tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to think proactively, anticipate needs, and take initiative in managing tasks.
