Job Summary

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices.
• Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.
• Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Scientist experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT. New grads acceptable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from ASCP or AMT required within one year of hire.

Work Schedule

• Evening/Night Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm, every 3 rd weekend, every 3 rd holiday; 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
