Our purview includes corporate and brand media relations, issues and reputation management, financial communications, and associate communications, as well as a full-service content and creative storytelling team that brings the story of Capital One to life on internal and external channels. As a central team within Global Enterprise Affairs, we are strategic counselors to our partners throughout the enterprise, sitting at the intersection of value creation and risk mitigation. We help drive business initiatives forward while enhancing the reputation of Capital One. We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing Tech & Innovation Communications team. This position requires exceptional judgment, an ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment, and a sustained focus on delivering results. About the Role: As Manager, Science & Technology, on the Corporate Communications team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing integrated, strategic communication efforts that elevate Capital One’s brand and reputation as an innovator in finance. Working across the business and horizontal enterprise functions, you’ll foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including senior leadership and help deliver impactful campaigns that advance Capital One’s enterprise technology business goals. Primary Responsibilities: Help drive scientific innovation internal communications and external public relations, thought leadership, and reputation-building efforts, including owning key bodies of work in enterprise AI/ML, data science, and broader science communications Partner with Capital One’s data science, applied and academic research, AI/ML, and modeling teams to develop thoughtful messaging and unified, internal communications strategies that drive forward community and talent-related programs Support Capital One’s external positioning within the context of AI, data, and other scientific disciplines, elevating Capital One’s role as a leader in technology and destination for top technology and academic talent Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of communications strategies Contribute to team-wide efforts to develop processes and operational excellence Stay informed about industry trends to inform and enhance communication strategies Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or military experience At least 5 years of communications experience related to the sciences, technology, or innovation Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of public relations or communications experience in financial services, technology, and/or other science-related industries At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
