Data Architect (Hybrid – near Coppell, TX)
Salary: $115K – $168K
We’re helping our client hire a Data Architect who will lead the design and governance of their enterprise data architecture. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with Sr. Data Engineers and business stakeholders to shape how data flows across the organization—from SAP ERP source systems (ECC / S/4 HANA) through a Databricks Lakehouse platform.
What You’ll Do...
Lead enterprise data architecture design, governance, and standards.
Build scalable data models across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers in Databricks Lakehouse (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DLT).
Model critical business domains (Finance, Logistics, Materials, Supply Chain) leveraging deep knowledge of SAP data models (ACDOCA, BKPF, BSEG, MARA, LIPS).
Collaborate with Sr. Data Engineers on ingestion & transformation pipelines (batch + streaming).
Establish semantic layers and canonical models for BI & self-service analytics.
Ensure data governance, lineage, security, and masking strategies are designed and enforced.
Partner with business leaders and IT teams to align architecture with analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
What We’re Looking For...
7+ years in Data Architecture / Engineering (enterprise-scale).
Must-have expertise with:
Databricks Lakehouse + Delta Lake
SAP ERP data models (ECC or S/4HANA – Finance, Logistics, MM)
SQL + Python
Data governance, lineage, and security frameworks
Prior leadership/mentorship experience with data engineering teams
Strong communicator who can bridge technical + business teams.
Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP).
Nice to Have...
SAP BW or CDS views knowledge.
Tools like Fivetran, Informatica, dbt.
Familiarity with Power BI / Tableau / Looker.
Exposure to data mesh principles.
