Full-Time Housekeeper

A lovely client located on the Upper East Side of NYC is seeking a full-time housekeeper to start ASAP. The client prefers a live-in candidate but is open to exceptional live-out candidates. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, for 40 hours per week guaranteed. The client is looking for an experienced, professional, formal housekeeper to help her maintain her home. Must have experience in a formal home, or relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Overall cleaning of the 2800 sq ft apartment
• Vacuuming/dusting
• Cleaning kitchen
• Grocery shopping
• Deep-cleaning bathrooms
• Washing and ironing linens
• Making beds
• Laundry with particular attention to washing instructions
• Ironing clothing
• Meal preparation and light cooking for lunch and dinners
• Maintaining organization of pantry and closets

Qualifications

• Honest, trustworthy, reliable
• Hard working - has a good work ethic
• Can cook - follow a recipe and prepare simple lunches and dinners
• Can read the room and know when to chat and when to quietly work
• Team player
• Experience as a live-in housekeeper a huge bonus
• Experience in a formal home a huge bonus

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience as a housekeeper with verifiable references
• Experienced with ironing and laundering
• Experience in a formal home acting as a professional housekeeper
• Cooking experience
• Comfortable wearing a uniform, or black pants/white blouse daily
• Can speak English well - make or answer calls in the residence if needed
• Open communication and professional demeanor while remaining friendly

Salary and Benefits

• Hourly rate is $40-$45 gross, based on experience and open for the best of the best
• Standard benefits offered - 2 weeks paid vacation, 4 sick days, federal holidays, overtime paid at time and a half
• Housekeeper will have own room and bathroom in residence
