Essential Job Functions - Ensure execution of daily operations within the department
- Accountable for production, supervision and discipline of employees
- Monitor and evaluate employees based on goals and standards
- Enforce import/export policy and procedure compliance
- Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
- Respond to & solve problems as needed
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Train employees on job specific duties
- Make suggestions and show initiative for process improvements
- Effectively communicate with clients, vendors and employees
- Seek the most profitable mode of shipment yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Skills & Abilities - Problem solving- identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Client Service- manages difficult client situations, responds promptly to client needs and welcome client feedback
- Quality management-look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Responsible for overseeing and managing the import and export operations of air/ocean freight.
- Leads and directs subordinates in international client service, data entry, dispatch, and warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements - Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Education & Experience - High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 4 years related experience.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES - Professional certification may be required in some areas.
California State required disclosure: Salary range for this position is between USD $66,560 and $90,000 per annum.
