Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure execution of daily operations within the department
  • Accountable for production, supervision and discipline of employees
  • Monitor and evaluate employees based on goals and standards
  • Enforce import/export policy and procedure compliance
  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
  • Respond to & solve problems as needed
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Train employees on job specific duties
  • Make suggestions and show initiative for process improvements
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors and employees
  • Seek the most profitable mode of shipment yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Problem solving- identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Client Service- manages difficult client situations, responds promptly to client needs and welcome client feedback
  • Quality management-look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the import and export operations of air/ocean freight.
  • Leads and directs subordinates in international client service, data entry, dispatch, and warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.

California State required disclosure: Salary range for this position is between USD $66,560 and $90,000 per annum.
