Job Description

NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Picture a world where kids as young as eight are pitching business ideas to investors and ten-year-olds are delivering talks that inspire adults. At Alpha Schools, this isn't just a vision—it's our reality. We're searching for a creative mastermind to elevate our mission even further.

In this role, you'll use advanced AI to design transformative workshops, test your innovations with students, and work alongside a team of educational trailblazers. You'll merge curriculum development with instructional design, focusing on life skills over traditional academics. With the freedom to innovate, you'll use technology and data-driven methods to refine your designs continually.

If you're eager to redefine education and equip K-8 students with crucial life skills, apply now and be part of Alpha's learning revolution!

What you will be doing

  • Crafting a dynamic life skills curriculum for K-8 students, concentrating on public speaking, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.
  • Creating objective evaluation systems, employing standardized testing methods, to assess baseline skills, progress, and proficiency in unconventional educational areas.
  • Testing new workshop formats with students, conducting on-site observations, collecting student feedback, and gathering parental input to enhance workshop quality.
  • Enhancing your expertise through research, best practices, and analysis of trends, integrating diverse insights to innovate new approaches.
  • Collaborating with the team and facilitators to ensure workshops surpass quality standards and meet educational goals.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Focusing on entertainment at the expense of skill development.
  • Designing programs that do not challenge children's learning capabilities.
  • Creating educational content lacking real-world relevance.
  • Developing passive, lecture-focused learning materials.
  • Assessing academic knowledge instead of practical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a highly engaging and challenging life skills curriculum that empowers children to accomplish what seems beyond their years, ensuring satisfaction for both students and parents.

Candidate Requirements

  • Commitment to working in-person at Alpha's Austin campus.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in creating educational activities, workshops, or training sessions in any sector.
  • Experience in observing and collecting qualitative data and feedback from students or participants.
  • Proficiency in using Gen AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) for autonomous project execution.
  • Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

This position is also known as:

  • Learning Experience Designer
  • Curriculum Developer
