Industrial Painter - Entry Level

Whippany Actuation Systems is a dynamic aerospace company that designs and manufactures electromechanical actuators and control electronics for commercial and military applications. We are currently looking for a Painter who can work in a fast-paced production environment and is searching for an opportunity to work with a growing company. Working in our Finishing Department, you will prepare surfaces, paint and label a variety of electro-mechanical units and parts.

In this role, you would typically:

\n
• Prepare surfaces of units and parts in preparation for spray painting in accordance with specifications/work orders.
\n
• Select and mix paint material and apply paint with required equipment and technique.
\n
• Apply sealer to sub-assemblies and paint and finish parts and finished units
\n
• Use hand tools, tie wire units as per drawings, work orders, MIL-Specs or other work instructions.
\n
• Adhere to medical surveillance monitoring requirements and follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures.
\n
• Clean and maintain paint equipment.
\n
• Prepare and maintain required documentation.
\n
• Transport parts and units throughout department including work bench, paint booths, ovens and drying booth.
\n
• Select and make appropriate label and affix to parts.
\n

We require:

\n
• High School Diploma or equivalent
\n
• Two (2) years precision spray painting experience;
\n
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blue prints;
\n
• Basic Computer Skills;
\n
• Ability to seal and label units;
\n
• Authorization to work in the US
\n

\n

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:

\n
• Spray painting experience in Aerospace, Automotive or Furniture manufacturing industry
\n
• Prior finishing experience (sealing, masking, tie wiring) which includes creating and generating labels with a laser labeler
\n
• Experience working to Military Specifications
\n
• Attention to detail. Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
\n
• Self-starter inspired to perform without outside help
\n
• Team player who works well as a member of a group
\n
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
\n

Benefits and Compensation:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $24.52 per hour. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position."
