Job Overview: The HVAC Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of our HVAC service department, including hiring and managing technicians, ensuring quality control, and optimizing service delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and train HVAC technicians, ensuring they adhere to company policies, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating with field staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues, working to resolve problems and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and audits of service work to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient resource use.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs, to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on service performance, technician productivity, and customer feedback to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all service work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC service, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, repair techniques, and industry standards. Relevant certifications (e.g., NATE, EPA) preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Customer Focus: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with experience managing schedules, budgets, and inventory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and software, and a strong understanding of HVAC controls and components.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but technical training or an associate degree in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
