Reports To: District CCMR Coordinator
Status: Full-Time, Exempt | Salary: Based on RMA Board-Approved Scale
Travel: Occasional, as needed
About the Role
Richard Milburn Academy (RMA) is seeking a passionate and creative Distance CTE Teacher to deliver engaging virtual instruction in Graphic Design and other digital media courses within the Arts, Audio/Video Technology & Communications (AAVTC) career pathway.
This role is ideal for an educator with experience in online teaching and a strong background in digital design tools. Instruction will be broadcast from our Pasadena campus to students at multiple RMA campuses, with a focus on helping students gain real-world skills and earn industry certifications.
What You’ll Do
- Teach remote AAVTC/Graphic Design courses aligned to TEKS and CTE Program of Study standards
- Support students in building digital portfolios and earning certifications (Adobe Certified Professional, PrintED, etc.)
- Collaborate with the CCMR Coordinator to develop project-based lessons
- Use Canvas LMS and digital tools to track progress, provide feedback, and support at-risk students
- Serve as the lead content expert for AAVTC instruction across assigned campuses
- Work alongside campus-based staff (Associate Teachers) to ensure student success
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Preferred Texas certification in one or more of the following:
- Technology Applications EC–12
- Trade & Industrial Education with Graphic Design or AAVTC experience
- Arts, A/V Technology & Communications 6–12
- Experience with digital design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
- Experience teaching in a virtual environment; proficiency with Canvas LMS and video broadcasting tools
- Knowledge of industry-recognized certifications (Adobe, PrintED, etc.)
- Strong virtual classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for supporting at-risk youth in a remote learning setting
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday–Friday during regular school hours
- Remote teaching from the Pasadena campus with virtual connections to other campuses
- Occasional travel for in-person trainings or events may be required
