Essential Job Functions

• Warmly greets patients, family members and visitors
• Secures patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential
• Provides positive customer service
• Schedule’s procedures and office visits by planning with offices; verifying times; preparing charts, pre-arrival and consent forms
• Answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner
• Up front collections during check-in or check-out process
• Performs insurance verification and or authorizations
• Responsible for updating and maintaining correct patient demographic information
• Maintains an open referral pathway for referring physicians and patients to ensure timely scheduling
• Provides patients with the necessary documents for their appointments
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma required
• College level degree preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to make quality, independent decisions
• Effective problem-solving ability
• Knowledge in healthcare field

• Independently mobile to perform tasks
• Ability to be seated for up to 8 hours per shift
• Ability to push, pull or lift, up to 60 pounds
