Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Broker to join our logistics team. As a freight broker, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships with carriers and customers, coordinating freight movements, and ensuring timely and efficient transportation solutions. You must be confident in negotiating rates, tracking shipments, and solving problems in real time.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and secure new carrier and customer relationships
Negotiate rates and lanes with carriers and shippers
Manage full-cycle freight movements (from quote to delivery)
Schedule and track shipments to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, and internal teams
Resolve any service issues or delays with urgency and professionalism
Maintain accurate documentation in the TMS (Transportation Management System)
Meet daily/weekly KPIs and margin goals
Requirements:
1+ years of experience as a freight broker or in a logistics coordination role
Strong knowledge of freight markets, lanes, and carrier networks
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with TMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
Book of business is a plus, but not required
