Get ready to take your food safety expertise to the next level. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Food Safety Manager to join our team in the finance industry. This exciting and challenging role will allow you to utilize your skills in training, auditing, regulatory compliance, and program development to ensure the highest standards of food safety are met. You will be responsible for ensuring that our company adheres to all food safety and sanitation regulations, managing all aspects of our Global G.A.P. program, and providing quality training to employees. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Train the sanitation workforce in safe work practices and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct surveys of current and potential growers and facilitate regulatory inspections.
- Conduct Mock Recalls to ensure all systems are covered in the event of an actual recall.
- Manage, track, and organize all data related to Global G.A.P.
- Conduct pre-audits and evaluate audits to establish compliance with verification requirements.
- Conduct Harvest assessments, Certificate of Analysis (COA), and audit grower record keeping.
- Ensure passing of unannounced audits and avoid costly product recalls.
- Execute and oversee Corrective Action Reports and develop new programs to enhance the Global G.A.P. program.
- Maintain and manage the FDA Sanitation Standards Operating procedures (SSOP) programs.
- Oversee plant sanitation and pest control programs, ensuring compliance with HACCP, process and quality Standard Operating Procedures, and adherence to GMP standards.
- Interface with Customer-auditors, third party auditors, and county, state, and federal agencies as pertains to audits, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, quality, and food safety issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support and improve the overall operation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience with training sanitation workforce, conducting audits, facilitating regulatory inspections, and managing Global G.A.P. programs.
- Strong knowledge of FDA Sanitation Standards Operating procedures (SSOP), HACCP, process and quality Standard Operating Procedures, and GMP standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field is preferred.
- Certified in HACCP and GMP is a plus.
