Salary:

Position Summary:
The Food Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality throughout the dry foods manufacturing process. This role involves overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing quality control procedures, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Safety Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, SQF).
    • Monitor compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities and processes.
  2. Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product consistency and compliance.
    • Analyze quality data and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and improve processes.
  3. Training and Development:
    • Provide training to staff on food safety and quality practices.
    • Promote a culture of food safety and quality within the organization.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
    • Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
  5. Supplier Quality Management:
    • Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality and safety standards.
    • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead initiatives to improve product quality and reduce waste.
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in food safety and quality management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety and quality management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, ISO).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and production environment.

May require occasional travel for supplier audits or training
