CFO Hub is looking for a Full-time on-site Controller for a client who is in the a consumer goods industry, this position is not with CFO Hub.
A fast-growing company in the modern fireplace design and installation marketplace is looking for a controller to join their team!

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee a variety of financial and human resource functions within our growing organization. This role requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with hands-on experience in credit analysis, accounts payable, cash flow management, financial reporting, and budgeting. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess some experience in human resources, particularly in payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle management. As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:

  • Credit Analysis & Accounts Payable: Oversee the credit analysis process and approve accounts payable to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization maintains healthy liquidity.
  • Monthly Journal Entries: Record and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Receivable Oversight: Manage the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection and proper documentation.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Tax Filings & Compliance: Prepare and file sales and excise tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Coordinate with outside CPA for other tax filings.
  • Banking Relationships: Maintain and manage relationships with banks, ensuring efficient cash management and financing arrangements.

Human Resource Functions:

  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company offerings.
  • Workers’ Compensation Compliance: Ensure compliance with workers’ compensation regulations, handling claims and reporting as needed.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new employees and offboarding for departing employees, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve employee conflicts in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing accounting or finance teams, with a strong understanding of financial processes and reporting. Experience in human resources, specifically in payroll or benefits administration, is highly preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is strongly desired.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
    • Proficiency with accounting software (Priority ERP is a plus) and MS Excel.
    • Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom is preferred).
    • Familiarity with sales and excise tax regulations and filing requirements.
    • Experience in managing human resource functions, including payroll processing and benefits administration.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
