Facilities Maintenance Technician

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at our facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, as well as experience in facilities maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesRoutine cleaning of facilities and grounds to ensure safety and a respectable appearance.
Move furniture and fixtures as required. Set up and take down equipment for meetings. Install/remove locks from fixtures.
Conduct periodic facility inspections, check lights and all other areas for needed replacement(s), safety issues, preventative maintenance, or other improvements.
Receive, log, and provide follow-up on all maintenance requests from other departments.
Purchase needed inventory of supplies and be on call to respond to for alarms, and emergency call outs. Responsibilities will also be greater when Maintenance Manager is off-site or on vacation.
Perform as needed repairs on minor electrical equipment. Perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and painting tasks as required.
Perform and document routine periodic inspections for safety emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and other equipment.
Operate various motor equipment.
Work in a collaborative team environment and communicate in a professional manner.
Ability to manage various tasks in a defined period of time.
What You Need to Be Successful
High School Diploma or GED
Three to five years basic maintenance experience such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Ability to drive corporate vehicles.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge and use of handheld tools
Analyze problems with facility/systems and consult with supervisor on solution.
Ability to communicate professionally.
Knowledge and practice of working in a safe manner.
Ability to work with various contractors and supervise if needed.
Bilingual (Spanish/ English), a plus.
