My name is Jessica Troupe, and I will be opening a new coffee shop: Sankofa Cafe.
My goal in opening the cafe is twofold:
#1: to bring a quality coffee service to the Southend of Montclair and
#2: to be another business invested in our community. Sankofa Cafe will offer a wide variety of ethically sourced, fair-trade coffee, teas, and smoothies. We also will offer locally baked goods and treats.
I am currently seeking experienced baristas to join my new team.
If you take as much pride in your craft as you do in providing exceptional customer service and hospitality to a diverse clientele, I really want you to apply. I seek people who can balance intentional customer service with consistently excellent drink preparation and bar practices.
My bar setup includes a La Marzocco ABR, PB/2AV Linea, Mahlkonig E80S Grinders, and a dialed-in Fetco Brewer system.
Overview:
I seek skilled and enthusiastic Baristas to join my team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and preparing delicious coffee beverages. If you have a passion for coffee, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent customer service skills, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Operate cash register and handle financial transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines
- Stock and replenish supplies as needed
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Upsell additional products or menu items to increase sales
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso equipment is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Familiarity with POS systems is desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
