Role Description
aci consulting has an opening in the Austin area for a qualified, full-time Environmental Scientist. The candidate will be expected to provide support for report preparation and field work, perform ArcGIS tasks, attending meetings, provide marketing support, complete administrative tasks, and perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or management. Maintaining a sense of personal responsibility, positive thinking, integrity, ownership of work product, self-motivation, attention to detail, organization, resourcefulness, and creativity are imperative. Work may include travel outside of the Austin area, around Texas, or out-of-state. Additionally, work may be conducted outside typical work hours and under various weather conditions as needed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Geology, Anthropology/Archeology, Biological Sciences, Natural Resources Management, or Environmental Science. This is an entry-level position, however any previous experience in environmental consulting is preferred. Knowledge surrounding the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act and/or State and Local Environmental Regulations is also helpful. Qualifications include strong organization and communication skills, technical writing skills, and proficiency with program suites such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS. The physical demands of this position may be steep as outdoor conditions vary year-round. Applicant must be able to conduct fieldwork for long hours in temperatures of 100℉ and higher, walk at least 10 miles in rugged terrain, preform manual labor task, and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing greater than 20 pounds. Sever weather conditions are generally avoided but may occur unexpectedly. A valid Class C driver’s license is also required. aci env. consulting is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
