Director of Testing Center Title: Director of Testing Center
POSITION SUMMARY To manage the organization and administration of testing to execute and support the Tennessee Board of Regents' and Nashville State's requirements for testing, especially those supporting admissions, graduation, online learning, and make-up exams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Hires, trains, and supervises all Testing Center staff members. Perform yearly evaluations of staff. Develops and implements appropriate procedures and guidelines for the successful operation of the Testing Center. Creates, monitors, and manages the Testing Center budget and Institutional Effectiveness plans. Maintains communication with center and site Testing Centers and ensures that materials are provided and sent to other sites in a timely manner. Creates and updates the Testing Center calendar indicating testing schedules, dates, and times. Makes sure that the campus is aware of testing schedules. Coordinates testing for all NSCC locations including dual-enrollment sites.
Monitors Testing Center website to ensure that all information is current and accurate. Makes changes in a timely manner. Ensures that the hardware and software requirements for online testing are met. Keeps up with changes in course management systems and other programs. Provides ongoing training sessions to keep staff current in job responsibilities. Collaborates and communicates with faculty and academic departments about policies and procedures for the administration of classroom exams. Maintains appropriate records (e.g. test tracking logs, program statistics, and placement scores.) Promotes a multi-user proctoring environment to meet the demands of other colleges, universities and businesses.
Operates in a diligent manner to promote honesty, integrity, and fairness in all testing procedures. Operates under the guidelines of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and the Americans with Disability ACT, and other local, state, and federal regulations. Promotes and implements procedures to protect the confidentiality and rights of privacy of examinees and staff. Evaluates the testing program in an on-going, systematic, and comprehensive manner. Maintains a clear policy and procedure on identifying and reporting academic dishonesty. Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree
Experience working in student services
Computer skills with word, spreadsheets, and databases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in higher educational testing centers.
Prior experience with Student Information systems and CRMs (i.e., Banner and Slate).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and supervise every detail for the successful operation of the Testing Center. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Is articulate and uses an easily understood communication style. Has knowledge of and adheres to the mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Testing Center. Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with students, faculty, and staff. Ability to evaluate situations critically, make decisions fairly, and work effectively as a team leader. Ability to give and accept supervision.

Rate of Pay: $52,578.00 - $65,722.00 depending on experience
