This is a high-impact leadership position with a geospatial services and solutions firm operating internationally and headquartered in Warrenton, VA. Xcellent Technology Solutions, an over-100 person company (and growing), is seeking a key leader to help achieve our missions. As the Director of Contract Operations, your chief focus will be to translate and unify the intent, concepts, and objectives of the managing owner and help execute them both with functional staff (finance, talent acquisition, security) but primarily with our Program Managers. Keeping the Program Managers informed and providing clarity to them about updates in best practices, functional methods, and communication as well as helping them make the lives of the people they manage better with upskilling resources and clear guidance. Coordinate staff availability with leadership and protect the time of others. Oversee the education and execution of critical mission processes that help the company and our people grow.
Requirements
3 Years or more as a Program Manager within the federal space involving at least 12 human beings and $4-5 million in revenue
Understanding of how federal service contracts are priced and basic rules related to contracting
Some quantitative financial skills, which could come from a degree in finance or business with appropriate mathematics courses or from direct, demonstrated on- the-job ability
Leadership and mentorship of 3 direct reporting Program Managers.
Demonstrated knowledge of executive communications and the ability to facilitate from concept to practice
At least 1 successful change management experience in a corporate setting
Value concepts-driven from a strong ethical center. We pursue profits, however, we do not make every decision based solely on short-term dollars.
A background in Geospatial, GIS, GEOINT or agency contacts in the federal government arena would be a plus
Atmospherics
Ability to work at least three days a week in corporate HQ, the other two could be remote
Occasional travel a few (~4x) times a year to visit our employees and leaders would be required
Overseas travel 1x times a year (non-hostile) “very nice” area may be required
