Director of Data Science & AI – Build the Intelligence Engine for a Trusted Global Network

Location: Dallas, TX (100% On-Site)

We’re looking for a Director of Data Science & AI to lead the creation of real-time, adaptive models that detect, learn from, and respond to emergent threats on our platform. This role is not about language models or content generation—it's about building an intelligent defensive layer for the world’s most critical network.

Your Mission: Make the Network Self-Aware

You will build and lead the AI function from the ground up—architecting both the technology and the team that infuses Cortwo’s platform with continuous, autonomous threat detection.

• Design the Threat Detection Brain : Architect the machine learning systems that will detect anomalies, identify malicious behavior, and learn from threat vectors across a decentralized network environment.
• Build a Real-Time Intelligence Pipeline : From data ingestion to inference, build the systems that transform billions of signals into fast, actionable insights.
• Own Model Development End-to-End : Design, train, test, and deploy custom AI models—ranging from supervised learning to advanced anomaly detection and graph-based inference.
• Scale Data as a Strategic Asset : Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to instrument the system for telemetry, build labeled datasets, and ensure data quality at scale.
• Collaborate at the Edge : Work closely with the Security, Platform, and Network Engineering teams to embed AI natively into system architecture—not bolted on as an afterthought.
• Build and Lead an Elite AI Team : Attract and mentor exceptional ML engineers and research scientists who thrive on building from zero in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
• Stay Ahead of the Threat Curve : Continuously evaluate evolving attack patterns, adversarial behaviors, and novel detection methods—transforming cutting-edge research into production-grade defenses.

What You Bring (The Profile of an Intelligence Architect):

• Mission-Driven Mindset : You are obsessed with defending what matters. Your work is shaped by a deep belief in building secure systems from first principles.
• Deep Expertise in Applied AI : 10+ years of experience in machine learning, with a proven track record applying models to real-world problems—especially in security, anomaly detection, or large-scale data environments.
• Proficiency in Threat Modeling : Familiarity with common attack vectors, evasive behaviors, and adversarial tactics in networking, infrastructure, or identity systems.
• Full-Stack ML Experience : Comfortable designing and deploying models, not just researching them—your code runs in production, under pressure.
• Architectural Vision : You can design data and inference systems that scale, adapt, and evolve—balancing performance, privacy, and security at the system level.
• Leadership in Uncertainty : You’ve built and scaled AI or data teams in high-growth, ambiguous environments. You know how to attract top talent and give them clarity and direction.
• Technical Rigor & Curiosity : You're fluent in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and stay current on new advances in detection, graph ML, or sequential modeling.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience building detection systems for security products, networking tools, or cloud platforms.
• Background in graph-based learning, time-series anomaly detection, or unsupervised learning at scale.
• Exposure to adversarial ML or red/blue team simulation.
• Contributions to open-source security or ML infrastructure.
