Position: Dental Insurance Coordinator
Employment Type: Part-Time
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Part-Time (2 days per week)

Compensation: $22 to $25 per hour, DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and friendly Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our administrative team. Key Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.

Obtain pre-authorizations and submit pre-determinations as required.

Accurately input insurance information into the practice management system.

Explain insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and treatment estimates to patients.

Process, submit, and track insurance claims in a timely manner.

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies.

Post insurance payments and reconcile EOBs (Explanation of Benefits).

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance plans, codes, and billing regulations.

Collaborate with front-office and clinical teams to ensure smooth patient care and communication.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in dental insurance coordination or dental billing.

Strong understanding of dental terminology, CDT codes, and common insurance plans.

Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently, multitask, and pay strong attention to detail.

Positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional patient service.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience handling high-volume insurance coordination.

Knowledge of medical-dental cross-coding (optional).

Bilingual skills (if applicable).
