The driver will be responsible for transporting lumber and other materials to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe driving practices. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate company trucks (Class C vehicles) to deliver lumber and building materials to customers and job sites. Load and unload materials with care, ensuring accurate deliveries and preventing product damage. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle while performing routine inspections and basic maintenance. Follow designated routes and schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. When not driving and making deliveries - filling in as a load puller in the yard including but not limited to: pull and stage lumber, plywood, hardware, and building materials for customer pickups and deliveries. Safely operate forklift and material handling equipment to move loads throughout the yard. Assist customers with orders and provide exceptional service during deliveries. Keep accurate logs of trips, mileage, and fuel consumption as required. Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse staff to ensure efficient deliveries. Adhere to safety regulations and wear proper protective gear when handling materials. Qualifications & Requirements: Valid driver’s license (Class C) with a clean driving record. Previous experience in delivery driving, trucking, or logistics preferred. Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely. Familiarity with roads, routes, and delivery locations in Greater Houston Area. Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude. Good organizational and time-management skills.
