The Opportunity:

The Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating insurance claims to determine appropriate settlements for policyholders.They will facilitate fair and efficient resolution of claims while maintaining compliance with insurance regulations and polices.  They will provide partners with exceptional claims handling services within the Hylant Administrative Services team.Partners include public entities, public schools, agents, and reinsurers.

In This Role You Will Execute On:

• Investigate to confirm insurance coverage, determine liability, establish, report status, document activities, discern immunities/defenses available.
• Negotiate settlement of all types of assigned claims.
• Determine, report on, and initiate subrogation and salvage recoveries.
• Settle and initiate payments on assigned claims within prescribed authority level.
• Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses documenting conversations.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

In This Role You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business, finance, or related field preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in insurance claims preferred.
• Multiline insurance coverage experience within public entities and/or public schools is a plus, but not required.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
