Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and assess the facts of each claim, determining the validity and extent of coverage.
Analyze damages, reviewing reports from appraisers and other experts as needed.
Set reserves on claims and monitor throughout the process, adjusting as necessary based on new information.
Communicate with insured parties, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and provide updates.
Prepare and submit reports and recommendations for the settlement of claims.
Manage the claims process from start to closure, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Identify potential fraudulent claims and refer them for further investigation.
Assist in mediation, negotiation, and settlement discussions as needed.
Document all claim activities thoroughly and timely in the company’s claim management system.
Attend depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, representing the company as needed.
Stay updated on policy changes, regulatory requirements, and best practices within the insurance industry.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in property, casualty, or liability claims handling.
Active Adjuster License as required by the state.
Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage analysis, and claims procedures.
Proficiency in claims management software and estimating systems (e.g., Xactimate).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
