About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with a strong background in compliance, particularly in the areas of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and financial services. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and leading the compliance function, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met for the company's open payment protocol. This includes the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique challenges of the industry, such as AML, CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, and data privacy. The CCO will also be responsible for staying abreast of compliance developments, conducting risk assessments, providing training to employees, leading internal investigations, and serving as the primary contact for regulatory agencies. Applicants for the CCO position at the company should have at least 10 years' of experience in compliance, with a minimum of 3 years' in a CCO or similar role within a scaling organization. The role requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to digital currencies, blockchain technology, and payments, as well as the ability to build compliance functions from the ground up. Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and excellent communication are essential, as the CCO will work closely with senior leadership to mitigate risks and foster a culture of integrity and accountability.
