Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of System Studies and Simulation (S³), providing a variety of aviation services to commercial, Government, and Partner Nation customers. KBFS has locations in Temple, TX; Crestview, FL; and Geneva, AL. KBFS currently holds certifications for CFR 14 FAA Part 133 (External Loads), 135 (Non-Scheduled Transport), 137 (Agricultural Spray Operations), 141 (Flight Training), and 145 (Repair Station). In addition to its current commercial operations, KBFS provides contract aviation support to the Department of Defense, other US Federal Agencies, and US approved Foreign Militaries and security organizations. The S³/KBFS Crestview, FL International ISR Training Academy provides pilot, mission system operator, flying crew chief, and loadmaster qualification training in air-land, airdrop, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission sets. KBFS Geneva provides Fixed Base Operations support for the Geneva Municipal Airport and is the recipient of the 2023 FAA Award for Airport Manager of the Year under Manager Bryan Pike. KBFS Temple provides Flight Training, Aircraft Maintenance, and Avionics support, and Commercial Aviation Operations. KBFS is seeking a Certified Flight Instructor to support operations in Temple, TX. Military experience is a plus. This is a part-time position. Description: KBFS Crestview supports U.S. Department of Defense in various training venues. Through our air advisor operations training, we have a requirement for Certified Flight Instructor Pilot support.
General Information: This position reports directly to the contract Program Manager. The pilot will provide rotary wing or fixed wing flight instruction to rated and non-rated aircrew members on all flight tasks stipulated in the flight training Program of Instruction (POI), Flight Training Guide, or CFR 14 Part 61 and Part 141.
Responsibilties: - Maintain own flight currency and proficiency as a hands-on instructor pilot.
- Independently prepares flight training syllabus, lesson plans, scheduling, and student training records.
- Conducts academic instruction in support of basic and advanced flight tasks and maneuvers, instrument training, terrain flight techniques, navigation, and end of stage check-rides.
- Conducts academic and classroom instruction on aircraft systems, training maneuvers, procedures, and other relevant aviation tasks.
- Maintains flight training records in accordance with appropriate regulations and local guidance.
- Conducts all operations safely and in accordance with established company policies, procedures (Flight Operations Procedures, Flight Profiles, and safety programs.
- Conducts pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight briefings.
Qualifications: - High School Graduate and Graduate of Commercial Pilot Certificate program (military or civilian).
- Must have a current Class II Medical Flight Physical.
- Fixed Wing must have 250 flight hours TT and 150 PIC Flight hours.
- Rotor Wing must have 200 hours (helicopter) and one year direct experience as a CFI.
- Must have 300 Hours TT.
- Required to have a R44 instructor sign off and a valid CFI.
