Job Description

LaSalle Network is hiring a Category Manager to lead sourcing strategy across direct and indirect spend categories for a healthcare organization based in Downers Grove, IL . This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a sourcing professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, drives cost savings, and builds strong cross-functional partnerships.

We’re looking for someone who understands procurement as both a science and a strategy – someone who gets excited about negotiations, supplier performance, and bringing financial value through every sourcing decision.

Category Manager Responsibilities

• Lead go-to-market sourcing strategy including RFPs, RFQs, and supplier negotiations
• Develop both short- and long-term sourcing goals aligned to financial targets
• Analyze supplier data, market trends, and spend analytics to drive cost savings
• Manage supplier relationships with a focus on continuous improvement
• Build financial models and business cases to influence leadership decisions
• Communicate sourcing strategies clearly to stakeholders and executives
• Create scorecards to evaluate supplier performance and value

Category Manager Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of indirect strategic sourcing or procurement experience
• Proven track record of exceeding cost savings goals and improving sourcing outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management skills and comfort presenting to leadership

This is a contract to hire opportunity and will begin on a temporary basis. The hourly pay rate is between $50-$60/hr and the position will offer medical, dental, and vision insurance. The work model is hybrid (3x on site, 2x remote) weekly out of Downers Grove, IL.
